About Me
I genuinely love listening to people’s stories and hearing about their lives - struggles and successes. As a former rehabilitation counselor, I have many years’ experience working with people with all types of disabilities, primarily vision impairments/blindness and brain injuries. In that career field, I worked hard to individualize recommendations to individuals’ unique needs and situations to come up with realistic plans that could help them achieve their goals. What I didn’t realize at the time was that user experience was at the heart of everything I did.
As a UX Designer, I bring a unique perspective on empathy and accessibility to all of my designs. By striving to truly understand not only what motivates people but why, I develop designs that are thoughtful, creative, and user-centered. My combination of problem-solving skills, teamwork, and empathy - learned through working with a myriad of people at all stages of life and all levels of abilities - has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of people and how they access and perceive the world. I strive to create products that meet users’ needs by truly understanding those needs on a profound and humanistic level.
